In the wake of Pele's latest pre-World Cup prediction - England having as much chance as pre-tournament favourites Brazil of winning the tournament - we look at his most absurd claims.

He may have been one of the greatest players to grace a football pitch, but his pre-World Cup prescriptions often leave a lot to be desired.

The same man who predicted Nicky Barmby could be England's Zinedine Zidane and that Freddy Adu would be his own natural successor, has dropped yet another  bombshell.

And following the Brazilian legend's claim that The Three Lions boast as much chance as his own home nation - hosting the World Cup for the first time since 1950 - it's high time we focused on just his pre-World Cup predictions.

If anybody is getting excited about England's prospects of winning the tournament as a result of Pele's claims, you probably won't be after observing some of his other gems.
