It seems no one is willing to hold back in expressing their distaste at the controversy experienced during the Brazil opening match last night.

This is especially so for the wife of Croatian defender Dejan Lovren, who took to social media site Instagram to express her frustration towards the referee’s decisions, according to the Metro.

Anita Lovren posted one image of referee Yuichi Nisimura wearing a Brazil shirt and another showing how Ivica Olic’s arm didn’t get in the way of goalkeeper Julio Cesar. This call of a foul cost Croatia’s perfectly fair goal to be ripped away from them following yet another poor decision.

The debatable calls made by the referee throughout the match have raised concerns about his decision-making abilities and have led others to wonder if he should be allowed to take charge of any other matches during the tournament. Even ex-England international Gary Lineker took to Twitter to shed his outrage of the game as he said: “It’s a tight call for Brazil’s man of the match between Neymar and the Referee.”
