The WWE is suffering from short-term memory loss.

Friday Night SmackDown finished with a match that had massive implications for the upcoming Money in the Bank event.

Bray Wyatt took on Dean Ambrose in a Money in the Bank qualifying match and for the first time in a while, the other members of the Wyatt family were absent from ringside, as was the other member of the Shield, Roman Reigns.

There was still some interference however as the former Shield member Seth Rollins provided the distraction and as always, Ambrose turned his attention to a new target and after chasing Rollins ran into a Sister Abigail from Wyatt.

Wyatt now goes into the Money in the Bank ladder match which will be for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Cesaro, Sheamus, Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio.

The events at the end of SmackDown have surely now set up a match we were all expecting to see as Ambrose and Rollins look ready to fight at Money in the Bank, all we need now is the confirmation.

Highlights of the Bray Wyatt v Dean Ambrose match can be seen here.
