This week’s episode of NXT saw a rematch between NXT Champion Adrian Neville, and a masked wrestler calling himself Mr. NXT taking on Sami Zayn.

The show started with a recap of what occurred at NXT: Takeover in the main event bout, which saw Tyson Kidd fail to dethrone NXT Champion Adrian Neville in a fantastic match. Their rivalry continued the following week when Kidd came out to the ring to apologise to the champion and request a rematch; which Neville granted and that took place on this show and it will be the main event.

After the opening video of NXT Bayley made her way out to the ring in typical fashion, a lot of smiling and jumping around and inflatable tube-men on the stage. A recap of last week is then shown when Summer Rae made her NXT return and attacked Bayley after her loss to new NXT Women’s Champion, Charlotte. The ‘BFFs’ attacked Bayley until Diva’s Champion Paige and Emma came out for the save.

This leads on to our opening match, divas tag team action as Emma made her way out next followed by Paige to a very loud reaction from the crowd at Full Sail University. The BFFs followed them as they bickered the entire way down the ramp.

Match One: Bayley, Emma and Paige vs. Summer Rae, Sasha Banks and Charlotte

A decent opening divas tag team match and the crowd were into it to set the tone for the remainder of the great show. Again, NXT is allowing divas to showcase their talents and not go and embarrass themselves on the main roster, so it’s a good time to be a diva on NXT right now.

The finish was a bit of an awkward one as there was a lot of chaos inside of the ring, nevertheless it was Bayley who picked up the victory by rolling up NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte to give her team the win.

Result: Bayley, Emma and Paige

After the match we saw a replay of the finish as they continued to tease a break-up between the BFFs. We then went backstage where a masked man shook the hand of NXT Commissioner John Bradshaw Layfield; who went on to thank him for the opportunity to compete on the night. The masked man was about to say he ‘Bolieved’ but stopped in his tracks and said he believes he will be successful in NXT; no prizes for guessing who is under the mask.

We stay backstage as Charlotte and Sasha Banks continued to blame Summer Rae for the loss, Alexa Bliss interrupted them and was told to leave by Banks and Bliss took it as a challenge.

As the next match was about to get unde rway we saw CJ Parker in the crowd once more with another recycling message before Colin Cassady made his way out to the ring for his match.

Match Two: Colin Cassady vs. Sylvester Lefort

Not the longest of matches but a big positive is that the fans are really getting behind Big Cass, his gimmick with Enzo Amore is working wonders and a main roster push could be on the horizon.

Lefort got the better of Cass earlier on but Cassady fought back, hitting a sit-out swinging side slam for the victory.

Result: Colin Cassady defeats Sylvester Lefort

Backstage Natalya was with her husband Tyson Kidd who was in championship action in the main event against Adrian Neville, she mentioned that she was very excited to be ringside to support Kidd in his title match, but he told her he was only focusing on one thing, and it wasn’t her.

The debut of Mr. NXT was being hyped before Aiden English is seen singing backstage, when he was approached by Simon Gotch. Gotch didn’t say a word but left the area with a piece of the equipment on his shoulders. English looked on in confusion but looked intrigued – NXT is taped in advance, the two are now a new team going by the name ‘The Vaudevillains’.

Finally it’s time for Mr. NXT as he takes on Sami Zayn. Mr. NXT came to the ring as the NXT theme song blasted the PA system, wearing white boots, trunks and a white mask; topped off with a red cape. He was doing a Blue Blazer impression as the hilarious entrance made it even more obvious who it was as the fans chanted ‘Bo…leave’ very loud.

Match Three: Mr. NXT vs. Sami Zayn

A very loud reaction for Sami Zayn as Mr. NXT celebrated like Bo Dallas as the crowd were very much into this as they chanted ‘you can’t fool us’. Again, it wasn’t the longest of matches but what followed was fantastic. Sami Zayn managed to unmask Mr. NXT and it was revealed to be none other than Bo Dallas. Zayn hit the Helluva Kick for the victory as Bo remained shocked.

Result: Sami Zayn defeats Mr. NXT/Bo Dallas

After the match Sami Zayn quickly exited the ring and told Bo Dallas to stay inside the ring, as he emerged with security and sent them after Bo Dallas. The fans chanted ‘Na Na Na Goodbye’ to Bo Dallas as he once more refused to leave. He evaded the security multiple times before managing to grab hold of microphone and accused the officers of kidnapping him previously and they touched his backside.

They carried him backstage and forced him inside a security card before Dallas agreed to leave quietly, but as expected he broke free and ran around like a child before a commercial.
Back from commercial and Bo Dallas had finally been caught as they carried him away, finishing off a brilliant Bo Dallas segment.

Main event time as Adrian Neville made his way to the ring quickly followed by the challenger Tyson Kidd and his wife Natalya, whilst the fans chanted ‘Nattie’s husband’ to Tyson Kidd.

Main Event: NXT Championship – Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd

Another brilliant outing by the champion and the challenger, it did their first match at Takeover justice and this was a solid main event. What was key was Natalya’s continual influence on the match as well as the fact that Tyson Kidd had around three clear chances to pick up the victory and capture the gold.

But it wasn’t meant to be as Kidd walked into a Superkick from Adrian Neville which was followed by the incredible Red Arroe, Adrian Neville retained his NXT Championship.

Result: Adrian Neville defeats Tyson Kidd – Still NXT Champion

Adrian Neville celebrated with the gold as replays showed Kidd’s chances to pick up the win as Natalya consoled a distraught Tyson Kidd. The commentators questioned what move would Tyson Kidd make next, ending the show.
