Liverpool are interested in signing MK Dons starlet Dele Alli, claims the Daily Mail. An offer close to £3.5million is in the offing.

Alli is considered as one of the most exciting English prospects outside the Premier League. Starting his career at MK Dons, the 18 year old has been capped for the youth international team and last season, scored 6 times in 33 appearances in Football League One.

MK Dons manager Robinson earlier was quoted saying: "He is one of the most gifted 17-year-olds this country has ever seen.

"I've said from the word go, he's as good as it gets and he's the best young player I've ever worked with.

"We know there's going to be a multi-million pound bid for Dele one day, but it's important he stays where he belongs [for the time being]. I see him as a young Steven Gerrard, who had a similar frame and build to him. He needs to learn to score more goals and is getting better at that.”

Such is the youngster’s talent and acclaim, that the fee could easily rise above £5 million. Interest from clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal has also been reported.
