Anderson Silva has become one of the most high-profile Brazilian sports stars to criticise their hosting of the FIFA World Cup.
There has been a lot of criticism and backlash from Brazilians ever since they won the right to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics, and Silva took to Instagram to voice his opinion.
He put up this picture on his Instagram, with the caption "Wake Up Brazil".
The picture currently has nearly 45,000 likes and over 800 comments, most of which agree with Silva's sentiment.
The tournament kicked off on Thursday with Brazil winning 3-1 over Croatia, thanks to goals from Neymar and Oscar in a match that will be remembered more for the dubious officiating than it will for the football played on the pitch.
As the tournament started, protesters were pepper sprayed and forced back by police and there have been legitimate concerns that if Brazil don't succeed or play well, then there could be full scale riots all across the nation.
So while the famous Copacabana beach is filled with cheers, beers and a few tears from travelling fans, it could be a scene of devastation if things escalate.
If more stars and high profile celebrities like Silva continue to oppose the priorities of the Brazilian government like this, then those fears will grow more and more and could threaten the 2016 Summer Olympics.
There has already been concerns about Brazil being ready for that and according to some reports, London has already been contacted about if they could host the Olympics again on short notice if Rio isn't ready.
Silva hasn't said anything else about the World Cup, instead his social media accounts have focused on his recovery and his family.
He's on schedule to make a return in early 2015 and recently has been linked with Nick Diaz, who would also be making his return to the UFC since his loss to Georges St-Pierre in March, last year.
