The World Cup is many different things to many different people. It's a time to get so inebriated that the police take an active interest in your behaviour, a time to abandon all sense of good taste and decorum by hanging flags from every conceivable part of your house, or even a time to neglect relationships to stare at a television for four weeks straight.
For some however it's that most sacred of things; it's a shop window. Every four years the age-old cliche is wheeled out for those either seeking a move or being moved on by their club, because lord knows in this information-overload age the best thing to do is decide on who to sign based on a small handful of games against completely random opposition.
Of course this summer, as with every summer since the dawn of mankind there are plenty of clubs scurrying around for new players - only for the pesky World Cup to get in their way.
The theory goest that if one of their targets plays well then their club will add a few extra zeroes onto their price tag - so shall we take a look at who's already done just that after the first few games?
No me neither, but we're here now so let's just get on with it. We've also estimated* how much they could be worth once the tournament finishes just to spice things up.
