Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could make a move for Steaua Bucharest full-back Iasmin Latovlevici, according to The Mirror.
The full-back - who starred against Chelsea in the Champions League last term - is seen as a potential replacement for Ashley Cole, who runs out of contract at the end of the month.
The Blues have been linked with a number of full-backs in recent time, with the likes of Luke Shaw and Filipe Luis reportedly wanted by Mourinho.
However, it appears that Latovlevici is the latest man being lined up by the 'Special One'. The report has suggested that the Chelsea boss was impressed with the 28-year-old when he played against them in the Champions League last term.
If he was signed by the Blues, then he would bring the club bags of experience, having starred for the Romanian national team for a number of years.
However, is he a better option than the likes of Shaw and Luis. Well, he may well be a cheaper one. Reports have indicated that Shaw could be on his way to Manchester United for a fee of £27 million - which is ultimately an awful lot of money for a teenage full-back.
Meanwhile, Luis wouldn't come cheap either. The Atletico man has been linked with a £50 million double deal to Stamford Bridge which includes striker Diego Costa.
The Blues certainly look set to have an even stronger squad for the 2014/15 campaign. Chelsea fans would have been left disappointed after the club were knocked out at the Champions League semi-final stage last season and only managed to secure a third placed Premier League finish.
However with Cesc Fabregas having already signed and Diego Costa expected to follow him, the signing of a full-back could hand Mourinho the complete side to challenge for silverware next season.
It's a summer of change at Chelsea, with David Luiz having departed the club for Ligue 1 moneybags Paris Saint-Germain. And experienced full-back Cole has been followed by England international Frank Lampard out of the Stamford Bridge exit door. Blues fans will, however, be extremely excited about the future, and will be hoping Mourinho has his magic touch next season.
