Real Madrid have confirmed that German international, Sami Khedira, is no longer part of Carlo Ancelotti's plans at the Santiago Bernabeu and that the club will be listening to offers for the 27-year old midfielder, as reported by El Confidencial.
The Spanish paper claim that negotiations on the renewal of his contract have been suspended and that Real will be listening to offers on the player.
Khedira joined Real Madrid from Stuttgart in 2010 and it looks unlikely that the midfielder will be adding to his 91 appearances however it is thought the 27-year old won't be short of offers from England, Germany and Italy.
Manchester United could very well be the club to lead the bidding war after submitting an offer of €35 million for the German star last summer however much will depend on whether new coach Louis Van Gaal can lure his top midfield target from Bayern Munich, Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Earlier in the week Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insisted he is not interested in any of Real Madrid resources however after the latest news coming out of Madrid the former Real Madrid manager might be forced to do a u-turn on his comments.
"They know that Ramires is not leaving, but they also know that I'm not interested in any Real Madrid players. Varane and Khedira? I reiterate that I'm not interested in any Real players, and that's the end of the matter."
Mourinho has also just acquired the services of former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and with Oscar, Ramires and Matic all midfield options, perhaps Mourinho will send Ramires the other way knowing that Carlo Ancelotti has expressed an interest in his former player.
Real Madrid are looking to replace Khedira with one or two world class midfielders that offer a little more pace and mobility than the German and with Xabi Alonso closing in on the end of his career and Asier Illarramendi putting in a string of unimpressive performances, Ancelotti has decided to act immediately.
Ramires, Verrati, Pogba and Vidal have all been on the radar of Carlo Ancelotti however none of theses look likely at this stage.
Toni Kroos remains an option for Real however the player has stressed that Manchester United is top of his list.
Real Madrid midfield options
Real Madrid are monitoring three offensive minded midfielders at the the moment that also fit their criteria of youth.
Portuguese, 22-year old William Carvalho, is one option although the word is that he is a little slow over the first 30-yards.
Schalke's 20-year old German international Julian Draxler and Croatia's Mateo Kovacic who is currently with Inter Milan could also be very good long term options for Real.
