Jose Mourinho is ready to meet the £21 million buy-out clause of Atletico Madrid full-back Filipe Luis, according to The Daily Mail.
The report has suggested that the Blues boss is ready to move ahead in negotiations in order to land the Brazilian this summer.
Luis enjoyed an outstanding season for Atletico last term, helping the club secure the La Liga title and reach the Champions League final.
The defender also played an instrumental role in his side's European semi-final victory over Chelsea - consequently impressing the Blues boss.
Three Atletico stars to Chelsea?
And now it appears that he could be one of three Atletico stars to make the move to Stamford Bridge this summer. Reports have suggested that Chelsea are ready to bring Diego Costa and Tiago to the club in the near future.
Costa would represent a fine signing for the 'Special One' after the Spanish international enjoyed a fine season last term. The Brazilian born striker scored goals for fun as he played his part in helping the Spanish side secure the title.
Tiago, meanwhile, could be set for his second stint at the Bridge, after previously departing Chelsea in 2005. The midfielder could further add to Mourinho's squad options as he looks to bring a fine balance to his side next term.
It remains to be seen as to whether Chelsea can tie up the three stars in the near future, as they target success in the 2014/15 campaign.
Luis to replace Cole?
Luis looks set to replace Ashley Cole in the Blues squad, with the defender set to run out of contract at the Bridge at the end of the month.
It now looks likely that Luis will challenge Cesar Azpilicueta for a place in the first team next term. Azpilicueta, who is primarily a right-back, had a fine season last time out and was named the club's Player of the Year.
However, the full-back could be used at right-back next season, meaning there could be a place for him and Luis in Mourinho's team.
