Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been boosted in his pursuit of Anderlecht wonderkid Sefa Isci.
The Express have reported that the youngster - who is just 18-years-old - has rejected the opportunity to join Portuguese outfit Benfica.
The starlet is currently playing his trade at Belgian outfit Anderlecht, but has been linked with a move away from the club in recent time.
And if reports are to be believed, Blues boss Jose Mourinho is ready to make a move for the youngster.
In fact, the rumours regarding a possible move to Stamford Bridge started earlier on this month, when the player's representative, Saffet Bakal, revealed Mourinho wanted to sign him and then loan him out to Vitesse.
He previously stated: "Benfica and Chelsea are interested in Sefa Isci. Chelsea want Isci to loan to their partner club Vitesse.”
So, with Benfica now reportedly out of the running for the player's signature, the Blues look set to have a free run at him in the transfer window.
The youngster can play at right-back or at centre-back and has already represented the Belgian national side from Under 15 to 17 level before switching allegiances to Turkey, where his parents are from.
It remains to be seen, however, as to whether Chelsea can persuade him to sign for the club in the coming months.
If the Blues are able to secure his signature, then they will have a number of young starlets at the club.
The likes of Kurt Zouma, Oscar, Eden Hazard and Co. are already plying their trade at Stamford Bridge, meaning Isci could be the next starlet looking to break through into the Chelsea first team.
Chelsea fans will certainly be excited for the 2014/15 campaign, as the club look to secure silverware next term. Blues fans will certainly be confident, with Cesc Fabregas having already signed for the club.
Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa could also join Mourinho's side, with his teammates Filipe Luis and Tiago having already been linked with a summer move to the club.
Mourinho is seemingly putting his Chelsea jigsaw together early on in this transfer window, as he plots success next term.
