Forget the samba style, tremendous skill and chase to be crowned World Cup winner at this summer's South American showpiece, there is one way in which any of the 736 stars lucky enough to be selected for the finals can make sure they are remembered for a generation and beyond, it's time to get down the barbers!

Crazy haircuts have been a constant feature at the finals dating back decades, just take the crazy locks of Argentina star Alberto Tarantini at the 1978 and 1982 tournaments, or Romania's ridiculous decision to all get a bleach-blonde crop in unison after reaching the knockout stage of France 98.

You see, standing out is more difficult than ever in the World Cup's expanded 32-team format, it takes a fearless streak and nerves of steel to enter the field for the biggest moment of your career looking like Ghana stalwart Isaac Vorsah (pictured above) did in 2010.

The gauntlet has very much been laid down to the likes of Gervinho, David Luiz and Marouane Fellaini, step up your game if you hope to match the five incredible efforts GMS has featured in a nostalgic look back through the sticker album shots to die for in previous tournaments, with alarming results!
