The free agency buzz around this year's NBA off-season has been intriguing to say the least. Several teams are looking to completely revamp their rosters using the draft and free agency, while others are hoping to just maintain what they have already.
This year, several superstars and undervalued players are being courted by teams everywhere, and it will be interesting to see where these five players end up.
1) Carmelo Anthony
Anthony has been a member of the Knicks since 2011, but in that span the Knicks have hardly made a run for a championship as he had expected. This has resulted in a lot of frustration that seemed to peak this season. Next season, he has several teams that would love to have his scoring ability on their roster. One team that is very interested in Carmelo is the Chicago Bulls, who have been subtly trying to bring him in since the regular season ended.
2) LeBron James
LeBron ended a fairly disappointing campaign this season, but he is still arguably the best player in basketball (Sorry Kevin Durant). LeBron has not given the media a lot of information about his thoughts on leaving Miami, but sources close to him have mentioned that he would like to be very open to trying a different team.
3) Rudy Gay
Gay moved from Toronto to the Kings in 2013, but he may want to move elsewhere if he wants a better shot at a title. Gay is one of the most promising small forwards in the league and is only 27 years of age, making him a big target in free agency.
4) Eric Bledsoe
Bledsoe played only 43 games last season due to injury, but he posted career highs in both assists and points per game. Bledsoe has a bright future ahead of him, and will certainly help out whichever team he ends up with next season. He is rumored to be open to remaining with the Suns, where he fit in nicely, but he will surely hear from other teams who are interested.
5) D. J. Augustin
Augustin had a thrilling season, blossoming into a much needed offensive and defensive point guard for the Bulls. He proved himself as a creative player who can create his own shot and help others to get theirs. If the Bulls do not resign him, a team could steal him out of free agency as a very solid backup or even a starter. There are a lot of teams that could use his consistency and playmaking ability.
