Arsenal fixtures released for 2014/15 Premier League season

Published 1 Comments

Arsenal will begin the 2014/15 Premier League season with a clash against Crystal Palace at the Emirates on the weekend of 16/17 August. Arsene Wenger will then take his side to Goodison Park to take on Roberto Martinez's Everton side.

It doesn't get any easier for Wenger's side in the early stages of the campaign, as the club take on Premier League champions Manchester City in their fourth clash. The first north London derby of the season, however, takes place two weeks later at the Emirates.

Arsenal travel to Premier League title rivals Chelsea on October 4, but will have to wait until November 22 to take on Louis van Gaal's Manchester United side.  The reverse fixture, meanwhile, will take place on May 16 - the penultimate clash of the season - at Old Trafford. Wenger's side finish the campaign with a home clash against West Brom.

Gunners fans will go into the up coming season in great spirits after the club finally ended a nine year trophy drought last term after claiming FA Cup silverware.

However, this time around, the Emirates faithful will be desperate for the club to claim the Premier League title. Last season's challenge proved too much for the Gunners, despite the club sitting top of the table for longer than any other team.

Arsenal fans will certainly be hoping the club can add to their squad before the start of the 2014.15 season. Wenger's side are certainly in need of a world class striker to compete for places with Frenchman Olivier Giroud.

A right-back also appears to be a priority for the north London outfit after the Bacary Sagna departed the club for rivals Manchester City this past week.

Key men

Arsenal fans will be hoping Welshman Aaron Ramsey stays fit for the entire season next term, after an outstanding first half of the 2013/14 campaign. The midfielder became the catalyst of Wenger's side, scoring a number of goals for the club.

Fans will also be hoping German international Mesut Ozil finds his best form after the player endured an inconsistent debut season in north London.

The centre-back pairing of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker will also have a key role to play as the Gunners go in search of the title.

It looks set to be another huge Premier League season, and Arsenal fans will be hoping they're celebrating come May.
