Last season, during Manchester United’s somewhat disappointing campaign, the young Adnan Januzaj was forced to step up and play a major role for the Red Devils under former manager David Moyes.
The 19 year-old Belgium international signed a new contract at Old Trafford last October, keeping him at the club for the next five years.
The youngster wishes to make an impact at his first world cup for a strong Belgium side, but this is not the main source of attention surrounding him. Reports from Spain have suggested Real Madrid are interested in Januzaj and are willing to pay a price of around £33 million to bring the young star to the Santiago Bernebau, according to the Mirror.
Januzaj made 35 appearances in all competitions for United last season and scored four goals. He is seen by many as a talent for the future and newly appointed manager Louis Van Gaal will surely be reluctant to let him go.
Real Madrid can offer him the chance to play Champions League football and to contend as one of the best teams in Europe, something United have lost due to their performance last season.
Juventus and PSG are also among the teams currently keeping tabs on the youngster.
After missing out on the pursuit of Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez, Januzaj could again play a major role for Manchester United, if incoming manager Louis Van Gaal decides not to sign another winger and put his faith in the young Belgian.
