Tottenham could be prepared to allow flop forward Roberto Soldado to join Sevilla in order to land Spanish defender Alberto Moreno.

Liverpool were seen as favourites to land the 21-year-old left back, but the club were not willing to match Sevilla’s asking price for the player, and Tottenham could now look to take advantage of the stall in talks.

Liverpool were reportedly offering £14.5million and Suso on loan in order to land Moreno, but Tottenham have trumped their offer.

According to the Daily Express, Tottenham are willing to offer Sevilla £16million, as well as Roberto Soldado and Eitenne Capoue on season-long loans, in order to land the target ahead of their Premier League rivals.

The Europa League winners have had some financial trouble of late, and after confirming that their star midfielder, Ivan Rakitic, will join Barcelona on July 1, they could look to cash-in on another star in a deal that will secure them two quality players for next season.

While Soldado failed to make an impact at White Heart Lane, managing just six goals in 28 Premier League appearances, his impressive return of 82 goals in 141 appearances for Valencia shows that he is capable of performing, particularly in La Liga.
