Cristiano Ronaldo has team USA trembling in their boots

Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world and even though he has never shined on a World Cup stage, teams like the USA still fear him.

US national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has admitted that the prospect of playing a bruised and brooding Cristiano Ronaldo is something that scares him, and he says his team will have to play to the best of their ability to prevent the irrepressible star from tearing them to sheds.

In the group of death, it's arguably Cristiano Ronaldo that stands out as the most revered and feared individual player in the group, and Jurgen Klinsmann knows what the US have to do to cope with the superstar.

"We need to show Portugal how good we are," admitted Jurgen Klinsmann Tuesday, and you can see why Jurgen is hell bent on making sure is side are fully prepared for their clash with Ronaldo and co Sunday June 22nd.

What's happened so far?

Portugal were hammered 4-0 by Germany on Monday thanks to a hat-trick by German goal poacher Thomas Muller. This has left both Ronaldo and Portugal 'angry' according to Klinsmann, something the former German striker is fully aware of.

"Now they are going to come into Manaus pretty angry and I don't now how Ronaldo is going to perform when he is angry," he told Yahoo Sports.

Rumors have surfaced though that Ronaldo may be struggling with a knee injury, which could give USA a wonderful reprieve.

The US team on the other hand had a perfect start to their World Cup campaign with a 2-1 win over Ghana. Captain Clint Dempsey opened the scoring after only 32 seconds before Ghana were eventually pulled back.

That was only before John Brooks headed the winning goal in the 86th minute much to his own disbelief.

Ronaldo has shown his pure talent against a US team before

If Ronaldo is fit and ready to play, he has dominated a US team before but not necessarily that national team. This wonderful goal below came against the LA Galaxy during a friendly when he netted for Real Madrid.

The majestic forward tormented the Galaxy defense that night, and the US national team will be looking to avoid conceding something similar when they face him on Sunday.
