Be it Pele's handshake with Bobby Moore, Paul Gascoigne's tears or Zinedine Zidane's headbutt, World Cups are remembered by their iconic images.

Though most of the drama usually occurs in the later rounds, the group stages can be equally memorable, and few will forget Siphiwe Tshabalala's strike on the opening day four years ago.

This year's tournament has got off to a flyer, with shocks, comebacks, beautiful goals and crazy celebrations right from the start, and there's no indication that this excitement will fade any time soon.

With 60 goals in the 20 games since the big kickoff, we're only a fraction of the way through what could turn out to be one of the finest competitions of all time.
