Tottenham could make a move for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony if they fail to land Chelsea man Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to The Daily Mail.
Reports have suggested that La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid have made a superior offer for the Chelsea ace, meaning Spurs may now turn their attention to Bony.
Bony, who has also attracted interest from Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal in recent time, only joined the Swans last summer, enjoying a fine debut campaign with the Welsh outfit.
Scoring 16 Premier League goals last season, Bony has gained many admirers in recent time, and could now be heading to one of the elite Premier League clubs this summer.
Tottenham, however, aren't willing to let forward Emmanuel Adebayor leave the club, despite previous reports. That could present new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino the opportunity to partner Bony and Adebayor in attack for the White Hart Lane outfit next term.
Tottenham fans will certainly excited ahead of the 2014/15 campaign, as the club look to secure a place in Europe's elite competition next term. It remains to be seen as to whether they can land a striker in the up coming market, however.
If the White Hart Lane outfit manage to bring Bony to the club next term, it remains to be seen as to how much of a role Roberto Soldado will be handed in north London.
The forward, who like Bony made his debut season in the Premier League last term, struggled to adapt, having previously starred in La Liga.
In Spain, Soldado was extremely highly rated and scored goals for fun, and will be desperate to prove his worth next season. He may, however, face further competition for places in the Spurs squad.
Since being boss of Tottenham, Pochettino has yet to bring any new names to the Lane. This certainly looks set to change in the near future, however, with a striker clearly being targeted.
Spurs may also strengthen at the back, with the club having been linked with a surprise move for Sunderland man John O'Shea. It's also uncertain as to whether the Spurs boss will move in for any of his former players from Southampton.
Tottenham fans will certainly be excited by the prospect of Bony joining the club, and here are his best bits from last season...
