Kevin Love is the most sought after player in the NBA right now after admitting he was looking to leave the Minnesota Timberwolves.
And with so much interest in the 2014 All-Star, NBA teams know that they have to make a big offer in order to beat of competition for Love.
The Golden State Warriors may have just done that if ESPN's Marc Stein is to be believed.
According to Stein, the Warriors have made one of their brightest stars, shooting guard Klay Thompson, available as part of a potential trade package for the Timberwolves in order to entice them to play ball regarding Love.
Thompson has been with the Warriors since being taken 11th overall by the franchise back in 2011 and has impressed during his three years as a pro - receiving NBA All-Rookie FIrst Team honors in 2012. So for the Warriors to be willing to part with him shows just how seriously they are taking the opportunity to bring Kevin Love into the fold - who is when all is said and done, one of the major players in the league.
Any trade package would also include Warriors veteran David Lee reported Stein Thursday.
It's a Love In
Since voicing his desire to seek pastures new last month Kevin Love has drawn the interest of virtually every NBA franchise it seems.
At last count, at least 10 remain seriously interesting in acquiring Love this offseason with the likes of the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks at the head of the queue. The problem for all of them though is that Love's Timberwolves contract does not end until the end of next season meaning that his suitors are forced to put together an enticing package if they wish to get hold of him during this summer.
The one that seems to be being put together by the Warriors though looks hard to beat.
As mentioned, at present the Minnesota Timberwolves have been very reluctant to accept that they may lose Love this offseason, with team president Flip Saunders stating on a number of occasions that their star man is going nowhere.
Love is already amongst the NBA's best shooting guards and as such is a highly valued commodity. He has previously talked up a link up with the Knicks but simply wants to go to a team that can win now.
The Warriors, whilst struggling in the postseason this time around, are certainly a team on the up with the likes of Steph Curry offering incredible offensive efficiency.
Therefore Golden State have successfully ticked off two of the prerequisites for a trade; A win-ready team, and a healthy trade package.
But at the end of the day, if the Timberwolves are not satisfied there is not a lot of the other teams can do.
