The summer transfer window is a time for thrills and spills in equal measures.

Fans are routinely given cause for optimism when their clubs sign a player tipped to drastically improve their fortunes, but this is more often than not perfectly counterbalanced when other clubs come prying on their top stars. As such it's a constant struggle for managers to stay one step ahead of the game with regards to the transfer business they intend to complete - the quieter it stays, the better.

This essentially gives birth to the possibility of deals being arranged that can stun, shock and leave in awe fans who had no prior knowledge of their construction - as was the case with Arsenal's capture of Mesut Ozil last summer.

Rather than stay completely out of the picture and simply wait for these deals to be devised however we've decided to seize the initiative and put together a list of the most shocking deals we believe will happen either during or just after the Brazil World Cup.
