The World Cup is the ultimate shop window in which clubs can cast their respective eyes over talents they may not have seen much of before. Perform well on the global stage, and you could just land yourself a notable transfer.

But there are, of course, also numerous stars who will already be well known to the elite clubs across the globe, and many of these players would have already fielded transfer interest before leaving for Brazil.

The most prominent sides in the Premier League are actively pursuing some of more eminent names on show at the World Cup, with Arsenal, Manchester United and others expected to prompt a flurry of activity following the conclusion of the competition.

Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi aside, there are numerous marquee players who could very well move to England before the transfer deadline day at the end of August.

And, with the World Cup little over a week old, GMS picks five realistic World Cup stars who would light up the English game were they to secure moves this summer.
