Both Manchester United and Tottenham have expressed an interest in signing £17million rated Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven this summer, according to the Daily Express.

YOUNG TALENT

Depay is only 20 but impressed last season and was rewarded by Louis van Gaal by being selected for the Dutch World Cup Squad. The youngster scored the winner in The Netherlands' 3-2 win over Australia with a thunderous right footed effort and is known for his long range shooting ability as well as being able to hit a sweetly struck free-kick, just two of the attributes which has pundits hailing the youngster as the next Cristiano Ronaldo.

Van Gaal entrusted Depay with the task of changing the game against Australia, bringing him on at the start of the second half after a lacklustre display first half performance from the Dutch. The starlet made 34 league appearances for PSV in his debut season, but was often used as an impact sub with 26 of these coming off the bench, despite this he still managed to impress throughout and added 17 goals to his tally.

PSV'S INTENTIONS

The Holland winger is highly rated by PSV and they will be keen to hold on to him, but the pull of the Premier League may be too strong, especially with a number of clubs interested in securing the players signature.

Spurs are eyeing Depay as a replacement for Gareth Bale after struggling last season without their talisman, but United may emerge as favourites due to Depay's Dutch links with Van Gaal. Nothing will be decided until after the World Cup, but it is clear whoever secures the signing of this young man will have a great talent on their hands.
