Manchester United trio Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley and Michael Carrick are all facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford and are eager to speak with boss Louis van Gaal, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The trio, who all endured a difficult campaign as the Red Devils slumped to a seventh placed Premier League finish under David Moyes last term, all run out of contract at the Theatre of Dreams in the summer of 2015. And it appears uncertain as to whether Dutch coach Van Gaal wants to keep the three players at the club for the long term.
In Manchester United's title season winning of 2013/14, Carrick was instrumental in the club's success, and was one of the standout players of the season. His form dipped last term, however, as Moyes' side struggled throughout the campaign.
United fans will be hoping Carrick is handed another opportunity under the new regime, as he could still play a key role alongside a world class midfielder.
Cleverley struggled for form and consistency throughout last season. In truth he's struggled to progress in recent time and has come in for a lot of criticism from fans. He certainly doesn't appear strong enough to play a major role in United's midfield, but Van Gaal may hand him one last chance to prove himself at Old Trafford.
Fletcher, meanwhile, returned to the first team set up last season after a chronic bowel complaint, and will now be looking to prove his worth to the Dutch coach. The midfielder is starting to enter the latter stages of his career, but would still add valuable experience to United's squad.
It remains to be seen as to whether the Manchester United boss looks to sell on the midfield trio, but there could be more Old Trafford exits this summer. We're going to take a look at five other stars who could also be in danger of losing their Manchester United status.
