France have been drastically overlooked for this year's World Cup. It's easy to suggest they have been criminally under-rated, a team no one fancied to make any real waves in Brazil, and yet now they are looking like one of the most dominant forces at the competition.
Where people were talking about the likes of Belgium and Spain as potential show stealer's, it's the French who have taken that title away from them, whilst the mentioned sides have fallen away and struggled, France have shone.
Brazil and Argentina have been slow to get going, whilst Germany and Holland have scored and concede in equal measure, could this year be the year that France go all the way again?
Well it's too early to say if they will repeat the heroics of '98, but they are on course to go a long way in Brazil.
It makes a stark contrast to their disastrous 2010 World Cup campaign in South Africa. That trip could be considered the lowest ebb in French football, the team was lacking any discipline, and some would say they deserved the humiliating exit - including being made to ride in economy on the return flight.
But now he team is filled with star quality, and have played fast attacking football, the goals have been coming with ease. The shambles of 2010 is being banished with every game.
It could have been so very different however, they are fortunate to even be at the competition - they struggled in their qualifying group - and had to overturn a three nil deficit against Ukraine to qualify via the play-offs.
However, in Brazil, the French have arrived in style. Here’s four reasons why they could go all the way.
