Check out all the latest Arsenal transfer news and gossip from today.

Arsene Wenger has rubbished speculation linking Arsenal with a move for Mario Balotelli, citing reports the AC Milan striker is set to move to the Emirates as "pure invention". (Daily Mail)

The Gunners boss is on the lookout for a new striker this summer in an attempt to ease the burden on Olivier Giroud next season, however he denied rumours of a meeting with Balotelli's agent in Brazil last weekend.

The news will probably come as a relief to Arsenal supporters concerned about the kind of impact the enigmatic star might have in north London with alternative targets like Karim Benzema or Mario Mandzukic seemingly a much safer option.

Contradictory reports

Arsene Wenger is set to make only one big-money signing this summer and must choose between Mario Balotelli and Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez. (Daily Express)

Despite having a large transfer budget available to him, the frugal Frenchman will decide between one or the other attacking acquisitions as he bids to strengthen his forward ranks at the Emirates ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

Podolski on his way out?

Former Arsenal loanee Emiliano Viviano has said that he'd like to see Lukas Podolski play for Fiorentina. (Viola News)

In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Blu, the Palermo goalkeeper picked out the popular German star as the one player from the Emirates he would want to see in Serie 'A' next season.

Viviano - who failed to make a single appearance for Arsenal during his season-long loan - reflected positively on his time in England, but has risked the wrath of Gunners supporters by talking up a possible exit for one of their favourite first-team stars.

Goalkeeper addition

According to sources in Norway, Arsenal are weighing up a move for Molde goalkeeper Orjan Haskjold Nyland. (talkSPORT)

The 23-year-old is the latest surprise name on Arsene Wenger's transfer wish list as the Gunners boss continues his search for a replacement for Lukasz Fabianski who quit north London upon the expiry of his contract to pen a deal with Swansea City.

Arsenal scouts have kept a watching brief on the talented Norway international, who has also been linked with Cardiff City - a move that would see Nyland reunited with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in South Wales.
