The WWE is preparing for Money in the Bank, it's next huge pay-per-view event, this weekend, and one of the organization's most iconic wrestlers is as excited as any of the WWE's hardcore fanbase.
Mick Foley spoke recently about his continued interest in the company he dedicated several decades too, and had a bold prediction for the WWE's huge upcoming PPV.
A Whole New World
During an interview with For The Win, Foley was asked who he thought could win the crucial ladder match which will see a new WWE Heavyweight Champion ushered into the organization:
"I think if Bray Wyatt wins we're looking at a brave new world in WWE, and I hope that happens," revealed the man formerly known as Mankind.
Wyatt will have the opportunity to cap a meteoric rise up the WWE hierarchy when he enters the ring on June 29 alongside a host of stellar WWE stars.
Alberto Del Rio, John Cena, Kane, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Sheamus, Wyatt and Cesaro will contest a ladder match along with Wyatt after Daniel Bryan was forced to abdicate his Heavyweight title earlier this month following injury.
Bray Wyatt only debuted in the WWE just over a year ago but has, along with the entire Wyatt Family, proved a popular and profitable character - his sinister actions during feuds with the likes of John Cena cementing his place at the forefront of the current generation of WWE wrestlers.
Foley backed either Wyatt or fellow champion-elect Cesaro to win at Money in the Bank, with the prospect of either winning out an intriguing one in his eyes:
"I'm picking either Cesaro or Bray Wyatt, and each of them would take the WWE in a unique direction," Foley continued.
Cesaro has been around in WWE for a little longer than Wyatt but, with his Eurocentric character, the 6' 5" Swiss star would certainly make an unique champion in the absence of Bryan.
But Foley was openly enthusiastic about Wyatt however, with veteran himself seeing similarities with the newcomer:
"Bray Wyatt reminds me of myself. He's one of my favorite guys," said Foley.
"He's really a mesmerizing interview, and he makes great use of his physical talents. He definitely makes the most out of his unusual frame. I love to hear him cut a promo."
The lead up to Money in the Bank is sure to be jam packed with rumor and counter-rumor and Mick Foley is clearly just as excited as the rest of us to see just which superstar comes out on top after what promises to be a huge night.
A night that could usher in a new era in WWE.
Check out just what that might curtail should Wyatt come out on top
