Veteran striker Samuel Eto'o has spurred interest from Italian club AC Milan, reports the Daily Mail. The 33 year old veteran is currently a free agent, being released by Chelsea and is being courted by a number of clubs after proving his viability last season in the premier league.
The experienced Cameroon war-horse is believed to be on the radar of AS Roma and Guangzhou Evergrande in China as well.
Despite scoring 12 goals with Chelsea last season, Eto’o has had a fallout with the club after notoriously calling manager Mourinho a ‘fool’ in retaliation to the former dubbing him an ‘old man’.
It is clear that neither parties will even think of working on a new deal and as a result, Eto'o is seeking fresh pastures for the few remaining seasons that he has of his playing career.
AC Milan interest
Meanwhile, winds of change are blowing at Milan. Star striker Mario Balotelli is apparently being offloaded this summer to make way for fresh talent.
Along with long term youth signings, a signature like that of Eto'o is what the club need to plug in their short term requirements and gradually indoctrinate a new generation of players. Old hands like Kaka and Robinho could also make way this summer.
Currently, Samuel Eto is representing his country in a fourth World Cup
