William Hill have estimated that a second championship win by Murray could cost the betting industry up to £10million.

This statistic comes after a punter, who evidently has all faith in the Scot defending his title, placed a bet of £100,000 on him. According to Ladbrokes, this is the biggest single bet ever placed on Murray to win the title.

Great progress

The mystery man (or woman) who placed the bet will no doubt be pleased with Murray's progress in the tournament thus far, seeing him cruise into the third round after beating Blaz Rola and David Goffin in his opening matches.

However, despite Murray looking extremely relaxed in the tournament so far, his third round match will see him face a much more difficult opponent, 27th seed Roberto Bauitista Agut.

Grass court preference

British number one Murray seems to have spent no time dwelling on his Roland Garros semi-final loss, and he has hit his preferred court of choice with a fresh attitude after losing early at Queen's.

He will be pleased with his most recent performances in the early stages of the tournament, as it has taken the attention away from new coach Amelie Mauresmo, whose expertise seem to be paying dividends.

Business end

This has left him with one less worry heading further towards the business stages of the tournament.
