GiveMeSport brings you the top stories from the world of US sport.

We begin in the NBA where the 2014 draft takes place tonight.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be the first team to select one of this year’s top college prospects having been handed the number one overall pick in last month’s lottery.

Expect trades and shocks a plenty as the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Joel Embiid lead a deep 2014 draft class.

To World Cup action and it is a huge day for US soccer.

Jurgen Klinsmann’s men face off against Germany knowing that a point is all that is required to secure progression to the knockout phases in Brazil. A defeat however will leave the door open for either Ghana or Portugal who contest the other game in Group G.

And finally, the NFL has agreed to remove a $675 million cap set on compensation for concussion-related claims made by its former players.

The move comes after a judge previously questioned whether the sum was enough to cover as many as 20,000 retired pros.
