Loic Remy is reported to be an increasingly more likely acquisition for Arsenal during the summer transfer window, but Arsene Wenger will not be intent with the France international being the only striker to move to the Emirates Stadium.
£8m bid will seal transfer
Arsenal have identified the signing of a proven goalscorer as a priority for this transfer period, as they did a year ago, and The Telegraph reports that Wenger is prepared to activate Remy’s £8 million release clause.
The Gunners are yet to make a formal approach for Remy, but it would appear a proposed move to north London from Loftus Road will be something of a forgone conclusion once Arsenal do decide to make their interest official.
But while the signing of Remy would be a good one indeed for Arsenal as they look to recruit some direct competition from Olivier Giroud, it is claimed that Wenger is also in the market for a marquee centre-forward.

One more striker
Also under consideration from Wenger is Mario Balotelli, despite the Gunners manager dismissing links last week, while Mario Mandzukic, who is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer, is also a target.
There may also be further moves in the market by Wenger, with the potential departure of Luis Suarez from Liverpool likely to open up some other possibilities for the Arsenal manager.
