Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers are both interested in the signature of the 27 year-old Sevilla centre-back, Federico Fazio, according to The Daily Star.

With both managers wanting to reinforce their shaky defences, they have both made Fazio their number one defensive target.

Sevilla will only let their first choice centre-back leave the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, if a club matches their evaluation of £8 million.

Fazio, who has made two appearances for Argentina, was instrumental in Sevilla's Europa League triumph last season, where his side conceded 12 goals in 15 games and kept six clean-sheets on their way to winning the trophy.

However, Fazio's performances haven't just attracted Arsenal and Liverpool.

Barcelona boss, Luis Enrique is also reported to be interested in the centre-back, as a potential replacement for the departing Carlos Puyol, who announced his retirement at the end of last season.

Despite Sevilla offering Fazio a new deal, the defender has seemingly been reluctant to sign a new contract as he isn't yet ready to commit his immediate future to the club.
