Dejan Lovren leads cast of Premier League stars looking for big move (1)

Southampton fans won't thank me for pointing out that three of their best players have secured mega-money transfers this summer on the strength of their Premier League form last season, but other stars at clubs outside the traditional big six teams should be watching those deals go through with close interest.

Adam Lallana's £25m switch to Liverpool, which is expected to be completed and confirmed in the next 48 hours, is a prime example. Lallana has got the chance to play Champions League football and at the World Cup finals through exemplary domestic form, proving a potent, hard-working playmaker and at the age of 26 finally matching his talent to consistent performances.

Traditionally the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have looked to Europe for talent at a reasonable price after growing frustrated with the market for domestic talent, but that stance definitely looks to be changing.

The trend can extend well beyond homegrown talent like Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Manchester United's new star Luke Shaw too, with plenty of Premier League stars capable of earning a lucrative move if they continue to perform at their best this season.

As Southampton's impressive squad continues to be gutted by big-money rivals GMS has decided to profile five often underrated Premier League performers who looked primed for bigger and better in the next 12 months, as Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and co. continue to seek additions ahead of next season.

Which Premier League star could you see doing a job at the Emirates, Old Trafford or Anfield if they had the chance? Click through the next five pages and then feel free to have your say as transfer silly season gets ready to head into overdrive after the World Cup.
