Real Madrid will reportedly entertain offers for Sami Khedira this summer, with the future of the Germany international in doubt. Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been linked with the player, and it may well be that the Premier League is his next destination.
Real Madrid ready to cash in
Khedira was injured for much of the club campaign but was able to overcome his cruciate ligament damage by the end of the season, and has performed notably for both Real Madrid and Germany since his return.
But Marca report that Real Madrid are considering the sale of Khedira. They are convinced that offers will come from some of Europe’s elite after the World Cup, and would be prepared to sell him for around €30 million.
Chelsea have been linked with Khedira for some time, with the 27-year-old’s relationship with Jose Mourinho potentially key to proposed move to Stamford Bridge. Mourinho bought Khedira to Real Madrid from Stuttgart, and has been credited with interest since his move to Chelsea.
However, Marca have placed Manchester United and Liverpool as the most likely Premier League suitors for Khedira. Manchester United made an approach for Khedira last summer, and may well return a year on.
Manchester United and Liverpool in contention
While Louis van Gaal has moved to secure the acquisition of Ander Herrera, the club could still do with a more recognised midfield anchor, and Khedira would appear to fit the bill for he new Manchester United manager.
Liverpool, meanwhile, could have an even more sizeable transfer kitty were Luis Suarez to depart, and Real Madrid’s interest in the controversial striker may well prompt a Khedira move to Anfield.
