World Cup 2014 perfect signings for Premier League giants (1)

Football News

World Cup 2014 in Brazil has probably been the best World Cup we at GMS have experienced in our many years; the number, quality and timing of many of the goals has made real drama a feature of most matches.

- Neymar an injury doubt for Brazil quarter-final
- World Cup 2014: Best XI of the tournament so far
- Cristiano Ronaldo is not to blame for Portugal failure

There have been some exception individual performances and, as is ever the case, Premier League scouts will keeping their eyes peeled in the hope of unearthing a gem or two to report back to their managers. With FFP starting to come into play for European sides, expensive mistakes in the transfer market are even more damaging than they used to be, so new signings need to be perfect for their respective teams.

Young sensation

One man who has performed outstandingly in Brazil is young Colombia playmaker James Rodriguez, whose two goals in the round of 16 victory over Uruguay took his tally to five and top of the goalscoring lists. AS Monaco paid €45million for him last summer from Porto, so he is hardly an unknown, but a number of fans will be thinking he is ideal for their respective clubs.

While we at GMS agree the  22-year-old is an outstanding player, we don't feel he would be the right choice for any of the Premier League's leading clubs at the moment, considering restrictions of finance and current squad options.

Perfect matches

While Rodriguez might not quite be the right fit there are several players who we believe would be perfect for certain clubs in the Premier League - six in all. We are prepared for some of you to not agree with this, so we want a bit of discussion in the comments section below - just keep it clean.
