Manchester United are chasing Chile's star midfielder Arturo Vidal and are ready to offer Juventus as much as £30 million to tempt them into selling, according to the Daily Star.
Vidal who was eliminated along with Chile following their penalty shootout loss to Brazil, is a wanted man after his impressive season with Juventus and displays at the World Cup. Arsenal have also been linked with the 27-year-old, with rumours circulating that they will offer as much as £44 million but United are currently acting speedily in the transfer market and won't want to slow down.
Newly appointed manager Louis van Gaal has already completed the much anticipated signing of Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, as well as left-back Luke Shaw from Southampton. Vidal has already indicated that he may well be leaving the Italian champions for a new challenge but any decision will be made after the World Cup.
"Will I stay at Juventus? I do not know," Vidal told reporters.
With a £200 million war chest at Van Gaal's disposal, he does not seem to be wasting much time in capturing his desired players, as opposed to Arsenal who tend to wait until the last moment. It is because of this, that they may well beat the Gunners to the Chilean's signature.
