Football's latest outcast Luis Suarez has been disciplined once again for his short outburst on the pitch - in which he bit his opponent Giorgio Chiellini in the shoulder.

It has resulted in FIFA banning the Premier League's golden boot winner, bringing an early end to his campaign.

Enormous clash

Nerves probably got the better of the Uruguayan star striker in what was a do or die game against the Italians, with TV cameras clearly catching him sinking his teeth into Chiellini. Cameras also caught the bite marks that came as a result of Suarez's actions.

Fans of "El Pistolero" would have been distraught to have witnessed him biting into an opponent for the third time in his career - a move that would have shocked and disgusted the millions of viewers on a global level especially after the striker had put up a front of repentance.

A reputation in tatters

As Suarez's sponsors such as Adidas and 888Poker start contemplating their relationship with a player who has showed signs of "unsporting behaviour", the question over everybody's head is whether or not Liverpool will follow suit.

The Reds had struggled to keep the top striker away from prying hands last season, and based off his form alone, most top clubs would still be after his signature. But in-line with recent events, Liverpool may decide that holding on to Suarez could damage the image of the club despite his obvious talent.

To make matters worse, the four-month ban from all footballing activities meted out as punishment by FIFA would set Liverpool on the backpedal trying to cope with the loss of a player with such calibre.

What will Liverpool do?

Would the Reds be better off with the money coming in from the sale of a player with his qualities, or will they choose to justify hanging on to him as they have always done in the past?

The likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, clubs who have flirted with the idea of making an offer for Suarez, may perhaps be willing to take task of setting straight his issues at a hefty price tag that his qualities demand. Or would Liverpool still choose to bare the burden of a flawed genius such as Suarez?
