This week’s episode of NXT saw former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam stopped by NXT to take on NXT Champion Adrian Neville in the main event, whilst there were two debuts and one return.

Last week’s episode of NXT wasn’t at the standard we usually expect so a lot was expected from this week’s and it didn’t really disappoint, as some exciting matches were on display for the crowd at Full Sail University.

Match One: T. Perkins and Matt Sugarman vs. Vaudevillians

Another reason to tune into NXT, especially if you are a fan of tag teams, is because The Vaudevillians are continuing to impress every week. The team of Aiden English and Simon Gotch were introduced to us at a combined height of 12 feet and 7 inches, and it's little things like that which make them stand out.

Still it a short match which makes the Vaudevillians look good as Aiden English picked up the pin fall.

Result: Vaudevillians defeat T. Perkins and Matt Sugarman

We then saw a quick recap of the events which occurred last week, where Tyson Kidd left Sami Zayn alone in the ring to take on The Ascension in the main event, a match which the NXT Tag Team Champions won. Sami Zayn called Tyson Kidd a weird kind of cat because he never learnt how to lose, and that the he’ll be hearing from him again.

Match Two: Xavier Woods vs. Bull Dempsey

We got the debut of Bull Dempsey who looks like a good worker in the ring and picked up a debut victory over Xavier Woods. He got some microphone action as well at the end of his match, telling the fans that kids have been running NXT for far too long and he is the last of a dying breed.

Result: Bull Dempsey defeats Xavier Woods

Match Three: Summer Rae vs. Becky Lynch

Another debut happened this time for new diva Becky Lynch, from Ireland. It was a match to make the new talent look good and Lynch does look an interesting talent, hitting the capture suplex to get a big victory over Summer Rae who was also in action at Money in the Bank later that weekend.

Result: Becky Lynch defeats Summer Rae

Match Four: Sawyer Fulton vs. Colin Cassady

It was a very short match which we all knew was only going one way, Sawyer Fulton dominated in the earlier stages but Big Cass fought back to get the victory.

Result: Colin Cassady defeats Sawyer Fulton

After the match The Legionnaires decided to come down to the ring and take down Big Cass, only for the fans to go wild when Enzo Amore returns to make the save, catchphrases and all.

Main Event: Adrian Neville vs. Rob Van Dam

This was the match everyone had been waiting for, Renee Young hyped RVD as Neville’s idol so it made it that much better. A fantastic main event bout with close calls and back and forth action from both men. High flying moves as expected with signature moves from both men.

RVD was close to taking the victory only for Neville to roll out of the Five Star Frog Splash, hitting a running DDT followed by the impress red Arrow for the win. After the fight both men shook hands to conclude a fantastic match.

Result: Adrian Neville defeats Rob Van Dam
