Greg Oden hasn't seen much action in the NBA since arriving as the number one draft pick in 2007, with injuries keeping him off the court for four years until he reappeared at the Miami Heat this season.
But, judging by a video that has emerged of the NBA player playing volleyball this summer, it is fair to say his competitive spirit has remained.
Oden, using all of his 7ft frame, makes a brutal connection with the ball at the net bringing it down to win a point...but only after it lands square in the face of his bikini clad opponent.
He may have found time to enjoy some action away from the basketball court but Greg Oden is facing another offseason of uncertainty having seen out his current deal with the Miami Heat.
Having played for the Portland Trail Blazers intermittently between 2007 and 2012, the center was forced out of the league for two full seasons as he looked to recover from seemingly never-ending injury predicaments - only returning when the Heat were seeking to add depth to their roster in August of 2013.
And at least with having pulled on the Heat jersey in 23 games during 2013-14 Oden will be slightly more confident of finding himself a new team in time for next season.
Oden managed 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in an average of just 9.2 minutes when he did come in to relive the Heat starters this past campaign.
A hectic NBA offseason
Whilst Greg Oden may be able to enjoy some down time as the NBA continues its summer hiatus, the same cannot be said for some of the league's biggest stars and GM's across the NBA.
With the likes of Carmelo Anthony and the Miami Heat Big Three have opted to test free agency in July, and Kevin Love hankering for a change of scenery away from Minnesota, there are sure to be some busy front-office meetings and some phones that simply won't stop ringing.
We just hope for Greg Oden's sake that he gets a couple of calls.
The first one however might just be from the girl on the receiving end asking for his insurance details.
