The Raw after Wrestlemania is usually the one to go down in history, the one that fans build up and the one where WWE have to deliver. Last night proved that "Raw after Mania" isn't the only Raw worth looking forward to.
There were three epic returns, but one of them stood out above the rest as the former - and quite possibly the best - Divas Champion in WWE history made her way to the ring. She confronted Paige after she talked to the WWE Universe about deserving to be champion.
Much like three months ago on the epic aforementioned Raw after Wrestlemania, AJ and Paige seemed to goad each other into the match and after Paige put her title on the line, AJ shockingly got the win off a quick roll up.
Not a great way for the fighting champion to lose her belt. Furthermore, it has forced the internet to buzz with rumours that AJ was never supposed to have lost the title in the first place. Paige is rumored to have been just keeping it "warm" whilst the longest reigning divas champion of all time left to pursue personal commitments.
AJ received possibly the biggest pop any female returning wrestler as ever received, as she made her presence known to the shocked crowd, and of course it wasn't long before the deafening CM Punk chants began for his new wife.
AJ is now a two-time divas champion, and now Paige will be the one in search of her re-match clause, as the two could potentially clash in a well thought out match at Battleground later this month.
After recent rumours that Mrs Punk wouldn't be returning to the ring very soon because she was pregnant, last night was a big shock to a lot of the internet wrestling community, but many saw this coming after Sunday night's Money in the Bank pay-per-view left the divas division with no road left to turn down except for the return of the fan favourite.
As stated above AJ wasn't the only returnee as Chris Jericho and The Miz also made their long awaited return and it seems "Raw is Jericho" could be booked with WWE up until their Night of Champions pay-per-view in September.
The returns of these superstars will help WWE's popularity to rise as they head towards the biggest party of the Summer, Summerslam, the second biggest pay-per-view of the year and the long awaited release of the WWE Network on British soil.
