Barcelona are set to offer £40m for Liverpool and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez however, they will only go in for the forward if he agrees to a “biting clause” in his contract, according to The Daily Mirror.

The Catalan side are reportedly ready to publicly support Suarez in his latest scandal, but they want guarantees from the player himself that his biting days are behind him.

Big move

Barcelona are set to offer the forward, who has scored 82 goals in 133 appearances for the Reds, a five year deal worth £160,000 a week.

However the Spanish club are wary of Suarez’s reputation and they will only go in for him if he agrees to never bite an opponent again or heavy sanctions may follow, as they acknowledge that Suarez may not appeal to all of their supporters after his latest controversy.

Clause

After biting an opponent for the third time in his career, Suarez may have to leave Anfield if Liverpool choose to unload the clearly troubled striker.

The Reds reportedly want £80 million for Suarez which is higher than Barcelona’s £50 million valuation, however if the Catalan giants offer Alexis Sanchez as part of the deal, it could guarantee Suarez’s arrival to the Nou Camp.
