Wade Barrett has taken the WWE Universe by storm under his new "Bad News" persona, and since he captured the Intercontinental Champion just before the European Tour back in May, it seemed there was no stopping him.
The first ever NXT winner has climbed back into the limelight over the past few months and even though he is defined as a heel, he was beginning to become a fan favourite.
That was until last week, the British Wrestler was injured in a match against Jack Swagger and it was announced on Sunday that because of this he would be unable to compete in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the future world title contract, which was then won by Seth Rollins.
This was followed by the announcement on Monday Night Raw that Barrett would be out longer than expected and so, much like Daniel Bryan before him, will be stripped of the Intercontinental Championship and WWE would guarantee the crowning of a new champion at the next Pay-per-view, Battleground, in just eighteen days.
Many names were announced for the battle royal and so far the list sees Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam, Ryback, Cutis Axel, Big E, Cesaro, Kofi Kingston, Damien Sandow and The Great Khali all in the match and with a chance for the title win.
We are just two days removed from the Money in the Bank pay-per-view and it seems we may also be aware of some of the big matches for the event, with John Cena defending his title in a fatal four way match against Kane, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns, whilst AJ Lee will almost definitely be defending her title against former champion Paige and former team mates Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins look set to finally have a one-on-one match, but the stipulation is still yet to be announced with many fans hoping for an epic street fight between the two.
As well as this we had the returns of The Miz and Chris Jericho on Monday Night Raw and even though it looks like the two could have entered a feud it also looks like Bray Wyatt looks like he wants a piece of the former Undisputed WWE Champion and this could have all the makings of a fantastic rivalry.
And finally, Jack Swagger turned face on Raw as well as "We the People" was chanted louder than ever and the former US Champion looks set to take on "The Bulgarian Brute" Rusev at the pay-per-view later this month.
