Myles Jury and the 'Korean Zombie', Chan Sung Jung took to Twitter over the weekend to try and setup their next fights. Jury became the latest in a long list of fighters to call out a Diaz brother, this time it was Nate who took the shots as Jury accused him of 'ducking him'.
His tweet read: "@NateDiaz209 I respect u a lot, BUT... I confirmed to fight you & have been waiting on you for a week. Are we getting after it or what?" Nate replied to Jury a couple hours later, signalling once again that he won't fight again until he gets a new deal, shutting down Jury.
Unlike Chael Sonnen's failed drugs test this surprises nobody as Diaz has remained absolute on his stance despite countless offers and call outs from fighters. His biggest fight at the moment is with Dana White and the UFC and currently, nobody is winning.
The lightweight division is in desperate need of a spark with champ, Anthony Pettis not fighting until December and Khabib Nurmagomedov out until the end of summer due to Ramadan.
It's left former champion, Benson Henderson to lead the division and he's set to fight four times this year, with his third fight coming up next month.
The interest in the Diaz brothers isn't fading and while that's good for hype, it means the UFC is going to pay up sooner than later or they'll have wasted two big draws.
For the 'Korean Zombie', his call out was a little more blunt as he called out Cub Swanson, just after Swanson had topped Jeremy Stephens via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 44.
"@CubSwanson fight me" said Sang Jung, who hasn't fought since getting beat by UFC Featherweight champ, Jose Aldo late last year.Swanson had been told that he could earn a title shot with a win over Stephens and while he looked good over the distance on Saturday, it lacked decisiveness. A win over Sang Jung would leave Swanson as the number one contender.
Swanson is ranked #4 by the UFC and Jung #5, so it's definitely a good fight to make. The major question would be where and when. With the UFC continuing its Asian expansion, they could have it main event another Fight Night or they could stack the UFC Japan card even further.
