The Premier League season is just over one month away now and the teams have just started to gear up for the new season as the transfer window has been opened.
For now, the Blues are the most active club including summer deals - although they've made only two, with £59 million no longer on their bank account. Two Spaniards, Francesc Fabregas (£27m) and Diego Costa (£32m) , were not supposed to join the club, say the fans. But it doesn't matter when it comes to Roman Abramovich. He will spend hundreds of million to bring back the title to Stamford Bridge after four years of failure in the league.
The transfer master, Arsene Wenger, hasn't still bought any newcomers. Firstly, he made some room in the squad for new lads who could soon join, selling Bacary Sagna, Lukasz Fabianski and others. The list of targets is enormous, but just in case, I'll name a few: Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata, Joel Veltman, Alexis Sanchez, Serge Aurier and many, many more.
The title holders who have won their second league trophy in three years don't need to make expensive transfers this season. They have released Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott, but Fernando and Bacary Sagna have joined shortly thereafter. Maybe one more defender would be good for the team, but everything else seems great and no more transfers are needed. Dejan Lovren could be their first pick after an extraordinary season at Southampton.
This is the team that needs most work. Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw got in before the window opened, replacing Alexander Buttner and Ryan Giggs in the first team. Mats Hummels is a must now when the team have lost two most crucial defenders - Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. Paul Pogba, Juan Cuadrado and Arturo Vidal have, among others, been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Two quick signings from Southampton made their rivals clubs be aware of their plans for the new league season. Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert would like to be a part of the starting XI at the Anfield and only good performances will get them there. Luis Suarez is most likely to move to La Liga, especially after the biting incident on the World Cup. A good thing that the team is considering youngsters in the starting lineup - Emre Can, the ex-Bayer Leverkusen player, is most definitely one of league's best teenagers.
Hull City have signed two impressive midfielders - Jake Livermore and Robert Snodgrass.
Swansea also got two players in, Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon and Lukasz Fabianski for the Emirates.
Newcastle United have released nine players and are going to have a lot of work in the next two months. They have signed three players already - Siem de Jong, Ayoze Perez and Jack Colback.
