Manchester United have moved in transfer market quickly this season, already acquiring Ander Herrera and highly sought after wonder-kid Luke Shaw.
The latter cost United an astonishing £30 million, making him the third most expensive defender ever bought and he's only 18.
Whatever you think of the price tag, Shaw looks to be a great bit of business for the Red Devils, with the club recruiting England's next best left-back and a star in the making.
More signings to come
With these purchases secured, United have pushed on and are being linked with a host of World Cup talent, the list of names includes; Arturo Vidal, William Carvalho, Stephan de Vrij, Thomas Vermaelen and Angel di Maria.
Vidal, if bought, would prove to be the marquee signing of the summer and give them a new look midfield. He would most likely be paired with Herrera in the centre, giving United fans something exciting and new to sing about next season.
William Carvalho's move to United has been potentially hijacked by Chelsea. Mourinho is believed to be keen on the young midfielder, however if van Gaal does win this transfer battle then Carvalho will be a solid addition for the future.
Although the £37 million price tag may be substantial enough to put off any side chasing a potential deal.
One of the more likely targets to be moving to Manchester United is Stefan de Vrij. The centre-half is currently with Holland and Van Gaal at the World Cup, he's a decent looking defender who would fit straight into the United starting line-up.
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has also moved onto United's radar, he has a wealth of Premier League experience and would be a decent snatch from one of the club's rivals.
Lastly, Angel di Maria, a top class winger who Real Madrid are happy to get off their books, if reports are to be believed.
The only potential hitch in any deal is that competition for Di Maria's signature is fierce, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and local rivals Manchester City are all believed to also be keen on signing the Argentine.
At the start of last season there was a lot of talk surrounding United's potential transfer acquisitions and not much happened, however under Van Gaal the Red Devils have started on the front foot in this window and look to be building a side worthy of mounting a genuine title challenge next season.
