Southampton centre-back Dejan Lovren has been causing quite a stir amongst fans of the south coast club, following reports the alleged Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool target plans to go on strike in an attempt to force a transfer from St Mary's.
The 24-year-old defender is the latest player to be heavily linked with a summer exit, after the high-profile departures of Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana, and will try to delay his pre-season comeback.
According to the Southern Daily Echo, the Croatia international is anticipated to be a no-show when new Saints boss Ronald Koeman expects his return, having already handed in a transfer request in light of an alleged £20 million bid from Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers has emerged as a serial suitor of Southampton stars this summer, and hopes to lure the former Lyon man to Anfield before the start of the 2014/15 campaign.
Saints reportedly won't accept anything less than £25 million for a player they now deem to be one of their most important stars, with Sky Sports suggesting that club officials are holding out for almost three times the £8.5 million they paid the Ligue 1 outfit to bring him to the Premier League last year.
Lovren is currently on holiday following Croatia's group stage elimination from the World Cup in Brazil, a tournament during which the defender conceded a penalty in the opening game against host nation Brazil.
He also scored in Southampton's memorable 1-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield in 2013/14, but might not feature again for his existing employers despite still having three years to run on his contract.
The talented stopper is believed to hold ambitions of playing in the Champions League again, and with a number of his alleged admirers able to offer Europe's elite club competition it's understandable why Lovren is pushing for a transfer.
With continued speculation surrounding his future, GiveMeSport has looked over a number of his most likely destinations based on bookies odds of who is favourite to sign him.
