Liverpool's Luis Suarez is edging ever so slightly closer to his megabucks deal to Barcelona. The Uruguayan superstar has a buy out clause in his current contract with the Merseyside club to the tune of £80million and Liverpool are keen to hold out for this figure.

However, Barcelona are locked in talks with the Anfield club in an attempt to try and lure Suarez to the La Liga outfit for a fee closer to the region of £60million, according to Sky Sources.

Barcelona's winger and Chile World Cup star, Alexis Sanchez was to be used as part of the deal to tempt Liverpool from letting their prolific goalscorer leave, but the report claims that this is in fact not the case and Sanchez will not be exchanged in the deal. It is now suggested that this deal, if it is to go through, will be separated from the deal involving Suarez.

World Cup scandal

Suarez who left this year's World Cup in disgrace for a biting incident on Italy's Giorgio Chiellini was handed a nine match international ban and a four month month ban from all footballing activity. This will see him miss a rather lengthy spell of next season be that at Barcelona or indeed Liverpool.

However, he has since apologised for his actions, an apology which was accepted by Cheillini which may see his ban reduced with the Uruguayan Football Association submitting a formal appeal to FIFA in an attempt to reduce the four month ban, as reported in The Telegraph.

Encouraged to apologise

It is also believed that Barcelona encouraged Suarez to apology before a deal would go through and it has also been reported that Barcelona will go as far as hiring a leading psychologist to keep his 'demons at bay', as reported in The Sun.

Despite his four month ban from all footballing activity, it will not block his move to the Camp Nou as FIFA have confirmed that Suarez will be allowed to undertake his medical in order for his move to be finalised, according to Sky Sports.

The time is right

In my opinion, a fresh move away will be good for Suarez as it can allow him to put the past behind him, although his actions and character has been continually put under scrutiny, there is no doubt that he is an exceptional footballer and will be a great hit at Barca with the fans on the pitch.
