Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha wants to work under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford next season, according to the Daily Mail.
The report has indicated that, despite interest from Newcastle United, the youngster wants to kick start his career at the Theatre of Dreams.
Zaha failed to make an impression at United under David Moyes last term, and was eventually shipped out on loan to Cardiff City. However, the English youngster struggled for form at the Welsh outfit, who were eventually relegated from the Premier League.
With the Moyes era now over, however, Zaha will be hoping to save his Old Trafford career under the new regime. It looks set to be a crucial season for the England ace, as he sets his sights on making an impression under Van Gaal.
The new Manchester United boss certainly has a great track record with young talent, so it's not surprising that Zaha wants to be educated by the Dutch coach. The England U-21 international is, however, desperate to secure first team football, and it remains to be seen as to whether Van Gaal will offer him that at United.
The Red Devils have an array of attacking talent, with the likes of Adnan Januzaj and Juan Mata starring at the club. Zaha will, however, look to take advantage of the inconstant form shown by the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia last term.
The trio all struggled to make an impression under David Moyes, and will be targeting improvement in the 2014/15 season. Van Gaal has handed his wide men key roles at his former clubs, so the United wingers will all be hoping to be part of his future plans.
If Zaha is shipped it, however, it appears that Premier League outfit Newcastle United are ready to make a move for his services. Alan Pardew's side attempted to bring the ex-Crystal Palace man to St James' Park in January, but the player opted to work under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Cardiff City.
It remains to be seen as to whether Newcastle step up their interest in the Red Devils winger, but his long term future certainly appears to be uncertain.
