Toni Kroos will complete his €25 million switch to Real Madrid after the World Cup - having snubbed the chance to join Chelsea.
The German international, who is currently away in Brazil preparing for his country's World Cup semi-final showdown against Brazil, is out of contract with Bayern Munich next year.
That has led to something of a transfer scramble for his services, but it appears as though Real Madrid have won out. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the €25 million deal will be completed after the World Cup final later this month. The paper adds that Kroos had his heart set on a switch to the Bernabeu, and turned down an offer from Chelsea in order to make the deal happen.
Manchester United, who have been heavily linked with the midfielder for the last 12 months, were also snubbed.
