It’s currently the off-season and there aren’t any games going on, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t an extremely testing and demanding time for football managers. Signing new players to bolster their respective squads is absolutely imperative. Failing to prepare properly ahead of another tough season is a surefire recipe for disaster.
But while signing new players is obviously crucial, so too is offloading certain members of their squads. Shifting the deadwood is never a nice job - in fact, most managers would agree that it’s often gut-wrenching - but it’s an essential task that must be undertaken and completed in order for a club to move forwards.
Every manager at the Premier League’s top clubs are currently weighing up which players should be sold before the summer transfer window closes on September 2. This list features three Premier League player - at Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal - who should be sold for the good of both themselves and their respective clubs.
But will Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger think differently? All three are paid mega money to make big decisions - and, as we’ve stated in the past, successful football clubs have no room for sentiment.
As well as the three featured Premier League players we believe should be moved on over the forthcoming months, we’ve also listed two players from La Liga’s biggest clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Feel free to disagree - or agree - with any of the selections. We want to hear your thoughts and are happy to engage, so please leave a comment in the box below.
